Strengthening Rural Women's Leadership in Farmer and Producer Organizations: Experiences from Nepal and the Philippines

The project was carried out in partnership with IFAD/Farmers' Forum, WOCAN Nepal, Asia Farmers' Association/PAKISAMBA (Philippines). 4 countries were involved, Nepal, Philippines, Senegal and Madagascar.

Rural Women’s Leadership Development: Training of Trainers’ Workshop Report, Feb 27-March 3, 2010

As a follow-up of WOCAN's training in Nairobi held in 2008 to develop a course on "Alternate leadership", WOCAN organized a Training of Trainers (ToT) on "Rural Women Leadership Development" from 27 February to 3 March, 2010 in Kathmandu, Nepal. The event was an activity of the IFAD-supported Rural Women Leadership Building program that is being implemented in Nepal and the Philippines.

WOCAN Project on Reframing Leadership for Women and Men for Gender Equality

This is a WOCAN project supported by Heifer International and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) to mobilize women and men professionals, and groups and organizations representing poor rural women in Africa and South Asia.

WOCAN Course on Reframing Leadership for Women and Men for Gender Equality: Participant Kanchan Lama`s Impression of this Training

A group of five men and thirteen women gathered together in the beautiful city of Nairobi to explore alternate leadership style for women and men to achieve gender equality and women's empowerment by influencing gender mainstreaming in institutions. This was a training organized by WOCAN in 22-27th  June, 2009 in Nairobi, Kenya for strengthening leadership and networking.
