A Partnership for Capacity Building and Advocacy

Final Report for Joint Heifer and IFAD Project: A Partnership for Capacity Building and Advocacy  (Women's Leadership in Agriculture and Natural Resource Management to Support Global Advocacy and Organizational Change for Poverty Alleviation)

Based on the success of the WOCAN/Heifer collaboration in West/Central Africa in November 2006, and on WOCAN's successful implementation of a previous small grant with IFAD that terminated in 2007, Heifer, IFAD and WOCAN have initiated a joint project and partnership to address their respective goals and lead an alliance to advocate for transformative policies and approaches that build on their best practices for gender equity in agriculture and natural resource management. The Partnership for Capacity Building and Advocacy (Women's Leadership in Agriculture and Natural Resource Management to Support Global Advocacy and Organizational Change for Poverty Alleviation) was implemented from July 2007-June 2010 with selected partners in several countries of Africa and South Asia. The countries of primary implementation were Cameroon, Ghana, Nigeria, Nepal and India, but participants from Zambia, Mozambique and South Africa also benefited from the project's activities.
