WORKSHOP FOR WOCAN MEMBERS IN WEST AND CENTRAL AFRICA
YAOUNDE, CAMEROON

This report attempts to capture the spirit, commitment and enthusiasm expressed by each and
every participant of WOCAN's first regional meeting of members. Truly the event was an
awesome experience that generated numerous voluntary contributions from members, most
notable of which was the indication by the members of the Centre for International Forestry
Research (CIFOR) to host a WOCAN chapter for West and Central Africa at their office in
Yaounde. A Steering Committee has been formed to guide the work of this group; we look
forward to learning more about the plans for action and the impact that this group of
committed women leaders will have in the region.
