WOCAN is a focal group for the Major Group WOMEN at 2 UN Forums: the UN Forum on Forests (UNFF) and the FAO-sponsored Sustainable Agriculture and Rural Development Initiative. These provide valuable opportunities for us to advocate on behalf of rural and professional women on issues related to forests, agriculture and rural development amongst the governments of the world, within the environment of the United Nations.
