In December, from the 10th to the 12th, Yaoundé, in Cameroun will host the Forum of African Rural Women. This very first edition of the Forum will deal with a crucial issue: “The place and role of African women farmers in family farming”. The outcome is meant to be a significant contribution to feed into the debate around the International Year of Family farming 2014.
On 11-12 Dec, Regional Workshop on Gender and Climate Smart Agriculture in ASEAN will be held in Bangkok, Thailand. The workshop is organized jointly by the Women Organizing for Change in Agriculture and Natural Resource Management (WOCAN), ASEAN Secretariat, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the German International Cooperation (GIZ).
SEAVEG 2014: Families, Farms, Food aims to bring together a wide range of expertise related to the vegetable sector. Through an assessment of the regional vegetable production value chain, it is hopedthat representatives from agricultural and environmental agencies, universities, policymakers, farmers,consumers, and producer groups will develop sound recommendations to improve small-scale horticulture and strengthen the region’s vegetable sector as the climate changes.
