On 17-19 Feb,WOCAN conductedthe training on’Strengthening Women’s Leadership for Local Organizational Capacity’ in Gn. Fuvahmulak Island in Maldives. Training was led by Dr. Barun Gurung, WOCAN Lead Trainer and WOCAN trainersAminath Shafia and Ahmed Riyaz. There were 31 (29 women 2 men)participants,11 (nine women and 2 men) participantsrepresentedthe 8 island development committees of the Fuah Mulaku Island, 13 (all women ) participant from the Funad development cooperative and 7 (all women) from the women developmentcommittees of the island. The workshop has three objectives:
- To strengthen farmer groups capacity
- Conduct a participatory assessment of groups’ strengths and gaps
- Develop action plans to strengthen group functioning
