On 11-14 Nov, WOCAN is conducting a training titled ‘strengthening women’s leadership for local organizational capacity’ for the IFAD-supported project ‘Soum Son Seun Jai’ (SSSJ) in Oudomxay Province of Lao PDR. The SSSJ project works to improve rural livelihoods of farming communities in northern Lao PDR.
The focus of the workshop is to strengthen local organizational capacity by increasing women’s participation in group decision making.
The workshop has three objectives:
• To strengthen farmer groups capacity
• Conduct a participatory assessment of groups’ strengths and gaps
• Develop action plans to strengthen group functioning
The workshop participants included 27 participants comprised of farmers, district extension staff and project M&E staff.
