On 5-9 Aug, as part of the activity for the ADB Regional Technical Assistance Project on ‘Harnessing Climate Change Mitigation Initiatives to Benefit Women’, WOCAN conducted the training on Building Capacity for Integrating Gender in Climate Change and Climate Financing in Cambodia. The training was facilitated by Dr. Barun Gurung, WOCAN Lead Trainer, Sam Bryan, Carbon Finance Expert, Nexus Carbon for Development and Eric Zusman, IGES. The objectives of the course are:
- To develop an understanding of the rationale for integrating gender into climate change policies and programs
- To develop skills and capacity for gender in climate change policy development
- To become familiar with key methods to integrate gender in carbon project development
- To become familiar with key issues, mechanisms and processes of climate and carbon financing.
Similar training will be conducted in Vietnam from 12-16 August and Lao PDR from 7-11 October.
