On 3 July, Sefora Masia, WOCAN South Africa Coordinator, discussed potential partnership with the Department of Environmental Affairs (DEA). The DEA showed keen interest to partner with WOCAN for the leadership workshop planned for late 2013. The DEA also proposed to partner with WOCAN to raise awareness on gender and climate change issues and invited WOCAN to attend the Global Services workshop from 19-22 August 2013. The workshop will bring together key stakeholders to assess the current provision of climate services in the country, bring forward future needs, as well as cooperate and plan for the enhancement of all climate services.
