On 14 June, Sefora Masia, WOCAN South Africa Coordinator, visited a farmers’ Cooperative in Rooival in Tshwane Region organized by Gloria Monageng, WOCAN member and farmer. Sefora met with the leaders of four Cooperatives each with five members and majority of leaders are women. At the meeting the farmers explained that they were not aware of any policies that affect them, as extension workers just assist with farming issues but do not discuss policies. The leaders showed keen interest to attend WLCAN meetings to share their experiences and discuss policies with other farmers and decision makers.
