On 16 May, Sefora Masia, WOCAN South Africa Coordinator, and Mr Sikhalazo Dube, WOCAN Core Associate and Trainer, met with representatives of Department of Water Affairs (DWA).

- Ms Wendy Mohlaudi: Assistant Director
Sefora presented WOCAN’s structure and programs. Ms. Setati, presented the role of Gender mainstreaming Division of DWA as that of:
- Oversight: to ensure that technical divisions implement gender policies
- Advocacy: and Education. Mainly implementation of gender issues events
- Empowerment of women in rural areas through projects
She also explained that the main challenge is the lack of budget allocated for the Gender Mainstreaming Directorate. The DWA representatives showed interest to learn more about the possibility of their women focused projects to earn carbon credits.
