On 16 May, Maris Gavino, WOCAN Liaison for Rome, presented in the ‘Multi Local Women’s Partnership Against Poverty’ seminar held by Women’s Lobby for the European Parliament in Rome, Italy. Maris presented the ‘Who, What, How of WOCAN’ to a study group composed of women leaders from Central Asia and China. After her presentation, she invited the group to join WOCAN’s interactive website. She also emphasized that WOCAN’s Women’s Leadership Circles in Agriculture and NRM (WLCAN) could be emulated to empower women, especially in the rural areas, and help them overcome barriers to achieving gender equality.
