Meena Bilgi, WOCAN Core Associate, and Nisha Onta, Knowledge Management Coordinator, participated at the Asian and Pacific Regional Implementation Meeting (RIM) on Rio +20 Outcomes on 22-24 April, at UNCC, Bangkok, Thailand. Regional perspectives on global processes resulting from Rio+20 were discussed, such as the establishment of a High Level Political Forum (HLPF) to replace the United Nations Commission on Sustainable Development (CSD), and the development of Sustainable Development Goals. WOCAN is a member of the Women’s Major Group and Nisha Onta, presented the Women’s Major Group statement for the session on “Institutional Framework for Sustainable Development: Global and regional dimensions”. Meena worked with other Women’s Major Group members to prepare the final statement on the follow-up to Rio+20.
