On 15 April, Sefora Masia, WOCAN South Africa Coordinator, presented the Women’s Leadership Circle in Agriculture and NRM (WLCAN) at the Ministry of Water and Environmental Affairs in Tshwane,South Africa.The participants of the meeting were
- Ms. Takalani Mathivha, Director, Office of the Deputy Minister
- Mr. Sandi Nyathi, Director, Department of Environmental Affairs (DEA)
- Ms. Wendy Mohlaudi, Director for Transformation and Gender Mainstreaming, Department of Water Affairs (DWA)
- Ms. Gloria Monageng, woman farmer and member of WOCAN
Mr. Nyathi presented the department services and invited WOCAN to make presentation at the national and provincial summits. He also showed interest on the Women’s Carbon Standard and invited WOCAN for a follow-up meeting on 8 Mayat the Department of Environment Affairs. Ms. Mohlaudi from the Department of Water Affairs presented the ‘Adopt a River’ program and also invited WOCAN to present at the Department on 15 May. After the meetings at the Departments, WOCAN, DEA and DWA will present the areas of cooperation at the main forum to be convened by the Office of the Deputy Minister on 22 May.
