Scoping Study on Women’s Leadership in Agriculture Sector in Lao PDR

Women Organizing for Change in Agriculture and Natural Resource Management (WOCAN) has published a scoping study on Women’s Leadership in Agriculture Sector in Lao PDR. This study is in support of WOCAN-IFAD project, ‘Capacity Building for Women’s Leadership in Farmers Producer Organization in Asia and the Pacific Region.’

The scoping study was conducted by WOCAN’s consultant, Phanlany Khamphoui, from June-July 2012 to provide a country level situational analysis on women leadership in agriculture sector, map existing rural producer organizations and determine resources and support groups available to them. The study also assesses the status of women’s leadership in women’s only and mixed farmer producer organizations within IFAD projects as well as those not supported by IFAD. Furthermore, the study identifies potential partner organizations and women and men that have the potential to be trainers who will be engaged in the project.
