SUMMARY:Reframing Leadership for Women and Men for Gender Equality Course in Bangkok\, Thailand
DESCRIPTION:More than 40 representatives from communities\, govt\, NGOs\, UN and donor agencies came together to explore best practices and the way forward at the ‘Regional Dialogue on Women’s Inclusion in Landscape Management in Asia’ held in Chiang Mai\, Thailand\, on 7-9 October 2014. \nThe dialogue\, supported by WOCAN\, The Forest Dialogue (TFD) and RECOFTC – The Center for People and Forests\, aimed to develop participants’ understanding of the current state of women’s exclusion/inclusion in landscape management\, which includes sustainable forestry and farming practices and land-use approaches. \nParticipants identified the challenges to designing and implementing women-inclusive initiatives in landscape management\, as well as shared experiences\, practical approaches and actions that support women’s inclusion in Asia.

DESCRIPTION:On 11-12 Dec\, Regional Workshop on Gender and Climate Smart Agriculture in ASEAN will be held in Bangkok\, Thailand. The workshop is organized jointly by the Women Organizing for Change in Agriculture and Natural Resource Management (WOCAN)\, ASEAN Secretariat\, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the German Development Cooperation (GIZ). This regional workshop aims to support the integration of gender concerns into the ASEAN Multi-Sectoral Framework on Climate Change (AFCC): Agriculture and Forestry towards Food Security. This is in line with ASEAN commitment to promote gender equality and will contribute to the implementation of the Vientiane declaration on Enhancing gender perspective and ASEAN women’s partnership for environment sustainability.
