Annabell Waititu, WOCAN Core Associate, was one of the speakers in this session during the GLF Africa event on 19 June, 2025 in Nairobi. The guiding question for this session was: Where should finance and capital be directed to generate the greatest positive impact—for people, planet, and prosperity?
This session called for a radical rethinking of current sustainable finance practices: one that shifts capital flows to the frontlines, where they can support locally-led solutions for climate resilience, ecosystem restoration and improved livelihoods. The session was moderated by Freidah Wanda, Programs Coordinator and Stakeholder Engagement Officer at CIFOR-ICRAF, and the other speakers were:
