WOCAN hosted a meeting of gender and climate investors who discussed the latest funding initiatives and solutions for pipeline building, benefit sharing with communities and project development for clean cookstove and nature-based solutions.
A clear takeaway: there are project developers already implementing such projects, and exciting opportunities exist for impact investors to jump in, to scale this ecosystem.
During SOCAP23, Jeannette followed sessions related to the tracks of Climate and Capital, Community and Economic Development, Philanthropy as Catalytic Capital, Impact Measurement and Management, and Gender Lens Investment. Highlights included meetings with Indigenous investors on climate mitigation and resilience, women climate entrepreneurs, designers of biodiversity credits, etc.
