ACACIA Hub is a central point for research and advocacy that aims to deepen and expand policy interventions that seek to address the care and climate crises. This hub is led by the Southern Centre for Inequality Studies (SCIS) in partnership with the School of Animal, Plant and Environmental Sciences (APES) based in the University of Witwatersrand and the Department of Population Health in Aga Khan University in Kenya. The objective of this hub is to generate quantified evidence on the care-climate nexus, identify approaches for financing care work and facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration between researchers, practitioners, and policymakers in East and Southern Africa through active policy engagement and community of practice development.
