WOCAN at the UN Women Working Session on Gender and Climate Change: Programme Development for South…

On 30 Jan, Maria Lee, WOCAN Consultant, and Nisha Onta, Knowledge Management Coordinator, attended the Working Session on Gender and Climate Change: Programme Development for South East Asia organized by UN Women in Bangkok, Thailand. The objective of the session wasto discuss the status of work on gender and climate change so that UN Women can identify the implementation gaps and needs to which their work ought to respond. The other participants were from various UN agencies such as UNDP, UNEP, UNREDD, UNSIDR, UN ESCAP andFAO, who presented their ongoing and planned work on gender.Maria introduced WOCAN and presented the findings of the Gender and Climate Smart Agriculture workshop organized by WOCAN-FAO-GIZ in Dec 2013. The group agreed to have regular working sessions and continue disucssion on collaborations.
