On 7 March, Jeannette Gurung attended the’Women in Hospitality and Tourism in Asia’ conference at the Hilton Hotel in Singapore. This event was conceptualised by Diageo Asia-Pacific as part of its Plan W strategy, and held in partnership with Hilton Worldwide to celebrate International Women’s Day.
The conference brought together subject matter experts from across Asia-Pacific to talk about the issues and opportunities for women in the hospitality and tourism industry, to share best practice, show-casing innovative approaches and explore ways to train, empower, employ and promote women in the industry. Of interest to WOCAN are approaches supported by this industry to empower women in communities, as part of their CSR engagement.
