On 1-4 Dec, The International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) organized the International Conference on Addressing Poverty and Vulnerability in the Hindu Kush Himalayas: Forging regional partnerships to enable transformative change in Kathmandu, Nepal. The objective of the conference was to bring together stakeholders from the Hindu Kush Himalayan region and beyond to crystallize science-based evidence for policy planning and action,move beyond pilots to scaling up and foster regional partnerships for transformative change.

WOCAN participated at the Marketplace held during the conference on 4 Dec. The marketplace provided a unique opportunity to share the various programs conducted by WOCAN and also showcase the collaborative work with ICIMOD with participants from the Hindu Kush Himalayan region. Along with the programs information and publications,WOCAN shared the draft copy of the research Scoping Study on Gender, NRM and Climate Change in the Context of Inclusive and Equitable Sustainable Mountain Development in Nepal. WOCAN conducted the scoping study to identify, review and analyze key issues, actors, institutions, ongoing initiatives, needs and existing gaps (research, capacity, policy, networks) in the area of gender, natural resource management (NRM) and climate change in the context of equitable and inclusive sustainable mountain development.
