On 19 Nov, WOCAN conducted the side event, W+ Standard: Ensuring Benefits to Women- Supporting Women’s Empowerment through Climate Mitigation Projects, during the UNFCCC COP19 in Warsaw, Poland. Jeannette Gurung discussed the progress in the development of the standard and its application within the biogas program in Nepal. The other speakers from Code REDD and South Pole Group introduced key design features of W+ and how these are to be applied to pilot projects that are under implementation.
