This toolkit is designed to support stakeholders involved in the development, implementation and monitoring of national action plans for family farming (NAPs) in effectively addressing women farmers’ considerations throughout the process. Its primary users include family farmers’ organizations, government representatives, civil society organizations, and other technical partners engaged in promoting family farming and gender equality at the national and regional levels. The toolkit aims to offer practical guidance, resources and tools to ensure that women farmers’ considerations are systematically and meaningfully mainstreamed into each stage of the NAP process – from initial planning and stakeholder consultations to design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation. It provides a flexible approach that users can adapt to different country contexts, regardless of whether gender equality efforts are at an early or advanced stage.
